The dark side, the PISCEAN side of LIFE became "cool"
when NEPTUNE was in SCORPIO. By "dark side", the hidden side of life is meant.
Beatniks began digging Jazz in hip clubs where the customers used to be mostly prostitutes
and hoodlums, musicians and patrons also openly smoked marijuana in those clubs. And then
came society's worst nightmare those screaming teenagers, howling at Elvis Presley, the
Beatles and the newly evolved Rock and Roll music. Those circumstances changed society
forever. Drug use and experimentation became very common during the time NEPTUNE was in
SCORPIO.
In the 60's literally, everybody smoked pot, some didn't inhale
though. LSD created a new spiritual awareness in many. Hippies dressed in wildly
outrageous clothing and had large gatherings called "love-ins" to revolt against
main stream values. "Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll" became a common thread
throughout society. The GRATEFUL DEAD. During the time that NEPTUNE was in SCORPIO a
SEXUAL revolution took place [free love], and a strong WOMEN'S movement began. Free speech
and freedom of expression also defined new boundaries. Bra, draft card and flag burning
become common place events in the US.
Society became more and more violent during the time that NEPTUNE
was in SCORPIO especially after War erupted in South-East Asia. Also very soon war erupted
all over the streets and on college campuses around the United States. The Vietnam War was
televised on the nightly news. Those TV pictures fired a quickly evolving, huge, anti-war
movement in protest to that conflict. Violence became almost a permanent fixture in
society with the bombings of college buildings, riots in the getto's and civil rights or
anti-war marches virtually everywhere. Many marches turned into confrontations with
Establishment "pigs", i.e., the police and/or national guard.
John Kennedy, his brother Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King
were all assassinated during the time that NEPTUNE was in SCORPIO.
In 1970 when the Ohio National
Guard killed the students at Kent State University most everybody in the US thought the
Apocalypse was here. Neil Young's tune said it all,
"4 dead in Oh-hi-O".
